Notes for elective subjects:
1) One of the electives must be any Category A subjects excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2);
2) The other elective can be any of the following subjects:
a) Category A subjects including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2);

c) Other Language subjects at Grade E or above.
Remarks on other requirements:
1) Good results in Chinese Language and English Language subjects are preferred.
2) High choice banding in JUPAS application is preferred.
3) Candidates may be required to attend an interview. Candidates are required to present their portfolios during the interview. They do not need to submit their portfolios before/after the interview.
4) Candidates should prepare their portfolios in digital format for the ease of presentation. Portfolios should demonstrate candidates' potential in creativity, story telling techniques and concepts of images.

The Film and Television Major provides comprehensive training in film and television, with attention to relevant areas of theory, history, and practice.

To equip students with the knowledge and vocational skill required in the creative industries, such as film, television, commercial and other sectors in audio-visual production and to provide theoretical training in cinematic arts.

Film Festival Tours
The Academy of Film organises a series of Film Festival Tours to enhance students’ competitive edge and their international/ global exposure such as Berlin International Film Festival, Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (Barcelona, Spain), Busan International Film Festival (Korea), Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Toronto), Far East Film Festival (Udine, Italy), Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Korea), etc.
Internship
Students are encouraged to undertake a non-graded and zero-unit professional internship during their study. TVB, Cable TV, RTHK, studios, corporate communication divisions, advertising agencies, production houses, etc. will provide internship opportunities (subject to availability) to students.
Career Opportunities
Career prospects for graduates of the Film and Television Major include creative content industries, such as film, TV, broadcasting, multimedia, and other sectors involved in the use of digital video and audio, such as public relations and advertising, IT, education, publishing, corporate communication, arts and media management, and journalism.
The Programme will consider Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or 2) as an unspecified elective subject in meeting the entrance requirements and as a whole subject in score calculation.

In general, the scores for the Applied Learning subjects (Category B) are converted as follows:
Attained with Distinction II=4, Attained with Distinction I=3, Attained=2
The Programme will consider Other Language subjects at Grade E or above as an unspecified elective subject.

A=5**, B=5*, C=5, D=4, E=3
